Ellen Morris Roberts counts an "Auntie Jeannette" as perhaps the only mother figure in her life that she remembers from her childhood. She says that Auntie was the wife of her father's brother. Perhaps it is Jeannette Smallwood Morris whom Ellen knew as "Auntie." Ellen didn't resume contact with Auntie for a period of almost 70 years, until they came in contact again in the early 1990s. Auntie was herself around 97 years old by this time. Before she died, Auntie told Ellen many things about her childhood, some of which may or may not be accurate.
