ROBERT M MUMMA, JR, 72, of Hagerstown, Maryland died, Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital.
Born July 31, 1935, in Hagerstown, MD. he was the son of the late Dorothy E. Mumma.
He served in the United States Army Reserves Co."B" 1st Battalion, 115th Inf. Regt., 29th Inf. Division.
He retired from Mack Trucks, Inc. of Hagerstown after thirty years of service.
He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church since 1947. Where he was a member and teacher of the Busy Men's Bible Class. He was also a lay ? leader; lay speaker; superintendent of all Sunday school; served on the Education Committee and president of the Otterbein Seniors.
He was a member of the North American Rod and Gun Club and the Morris Frock American Legion Post 42.
His love and talent was working with wood which he shared by making toys and crafts for Dicken's Fair and the annual church picnic. He also had a love for the outdoors and especially fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Stella A. Mason Mumma; two sons, Robert M. Mumma, III and wife Lisa and David M. Mumma and wife Jackie all of Hagerstown, MD; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn; three grandsons, Adam, Justin and Joshua.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ann Mumma Deneen.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison and Rev. Wilson Shearer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, MD from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
Memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.

"Dorothy Elizabeth Smith Mumma, 93, formerly of Potomac Towers, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro. Born Jan. 14, 1912, in Boonsboro, she was the daughter of the late Harlan Winfield and Barbara Ellen Lewis Smith. She was a 1930 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She retired from the dietary department at Washington County Hospital after 13 years. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, where she was a member of Sterling Bell Sunday School Class. She is survived by one son, Robert M. Mumma Jr. of Hagerstown; one brother, William W. Smith of Hagerstown; two grandsons, Robert M. Mumma III of Clear Spring and David M. Mumma of Greencastle, Pa.; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Armatha Barnhart; one brother, Herbert W. Smith; and one granddaughter. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
