"McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Laura Grace Stevens, 96, of the Long Term Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center, and formerly of North Third Street, McConnellsburg, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at the medical center. Born Nov. 20, 1905, in Taylor Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Grace Barnett Knepper. Her husband, Leonard Chester Stevens, died in 1978. They were married Aug. 30, 1924. She worked as a U.S. Postal Service clerk for 25 years at Hustontown Post Office. She was a member of McConnellsburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Grace Barton of McConnellsburg and Helen Rice of Chambersburg; one sister, Beatrice Walker of Harrisonville, Pa.; two brothers, Norman Knepper of Hustontown, Pa., and Wilmer Knepper of Chambersburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Charles W. Stevens; one sister, Mae Berkstresser; and three brothers, Howard, Erman and Paul Knepper. Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall, Pa. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, which will open at 2 p.m. A viewing also will be held at the church at 1 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Centerview Cemetery Association, c/o Tom Newman, P.O. Box 3, Waterfall, PA 16689."
