In 1870 census there is an Elizabeth age 3 listed in Thomas's household. This is Menerva Elizabeth. In 1880 Menerva nor an Elizabeth show up in Thomas' household. This little girl would be 13 in 1880. More than likely she is helping at the Lauver (mispelt Lanver) household. In the 1880 census there is a Minnie Mumard living with the Adam C. Lauver's family in Ayr, Fulton County; she is listed as a servant. Her age is listed as 5 but my guess is that is a mistake. I don't know of any 5 year old servants! note by PMumma.

Quote from Fulton Co Marriages by Wm. Turner: "Marriage date 11 May 1892 license control 245 Jessie A. Grove Taylor Twp, Fulton Co, PA Robert C & Harriet J Grove 22 S married Minnie E. Mumma Taylor Twp, Fulton Co, PA Thomas & Martha Mumma 24 S" source supplied by Don Lake, Oct 2002
Thomas's daughter went by Minnie E. and we know that Thomas' will states his daughter's name is Menerva E. Thus it looks as though Minnie E. is indeed Menerva E..
Descendants of Minnie and Jesse indicate that the name is Jesse Albert Grove. Source: Zelma Jean (Johnston) Olson, October 2002
Minnie married Jessie Amos Grove (b 1870) Ron Rose's web site has generations of this family.
