Mrs. Gertrude E. Raker, 413 E. Main Street, who for 22 years operated a rooming house, died at her home on April 20, 1959. She was born in Taylor Township, Fulton County, on December 23, 1886, a daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (King) Laidig. Her husband, George R. Raker, died in 1935. Prior to operating the rooming house, the Rakers operated a general store in Kearney. The deceased is survived by a son, James of Burlington, W. Va., and a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Claycomb of Bedford Route 2. Several grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Luella Brode of Coalmont, also survive, She was a member of the Barndollar Methodist Church in Everett. Funeral services will be held in the Fairview Methodist Church, Hustontown, on Thursday, April 23, at 2 p. m., the Rev. Robert Gibson officiating. interment will follow in the church cemctery. .Friends are being received at Corner Funeral Home.
