Notes:
[The following additional information was supplied by Jane Moomau Doughty]
She is listed in the 1850 census as being 12 years old which makes her birth year as 1838, The 1880 census lists her age as 32 which would make her birth year as 1848. This is in error and she is 42 years old. I believe the 1850 census because she and all of her siblings are listed in birth sequence. In the 1880 census, she is "keeping house" for her 78 year old uncle, Henry Hayes, who is widowed. Several of her Jones cousins are also in the household.

"I also found what I think happened to Susan Moomaugh, daughter of Emanuel. Georgia Marriages 1808-1967 lists the marriage of T. J. Hardaway to Sue Newmaugh on 12/17/1882 in Calhoun Co., GA. Susan and Phoebe were living with their uncle Henry Hayes in Calhoun for the 1880 census.
Find A Grave has the burials for Thomas Jefferson and Sue M. Hardaway in Lamar Co., GA. Evidently, Susan had a baby who died Oct.1, 1883. The information for this boy states that the mother was Sue Moornaugh. Sue died 7 days later. Her gravestone says that she was 38 years old, but I have always had her as being born around 1838. That made her about 45".
