Bonnie Jean Moomau Dutton
May 18, 1930 - July 16, 2021
Bonnie Jean Moomau Dutton, 91, of Danville, Va., passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021, after a two-week stay at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Dutton was born in Staunton, Va., on May 18, 1930, daughter of the late William Beane Moomau and Erline Virginia Miller Moomau. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Cecil "Jim" Dutton; and sisters, Virginia Sisson and Shirley Hall.
Survivors include, brother, William "Billy" Moomau; her daughters, Teresa Benson of Staunton, Va., Diane Forbes of Waynesboro, Va., Cindy Paris-Huffman of Roanoke, Va., Billie Jean Hankins of Axton, Va., and Gale Linens of Durham, N.C.; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and her faithful companions, Jake and Bella.
Mrs. Dutton was a member of the Community Baptist Church and a former member of the Degree Pocahontas woman's auxiliary. She retired from Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute where she was employed as the Supervisor of Housekeeping. After retirement, for many years she worked part-time as a demo lady at various grocery stores in the area. She loved spending time with family and good friends especially, Bonnie Taylor and Anne Bryant. She enjoyed going on bus trips with Pasty's tour.
The family would like to thank, Janet Godwin of Interim Healthcare and Rhonda Jones who provided our mother with care and companionship.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 19, 2021, 2 p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with pastor Ron Young officiating. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
