Notes:
This is the top person in this line and the connection to one of the Mumma immigrants is unknown. From the 1840 census data, we know that Jacob had at least 2 sons under the age of 5 in th 1840 census and possibly a 3rd about age 10.
Dauphin County Letters of Adminisration for Jacob Mumma's estate were granted to Wendel Fackler and Bernard Shope on 11 Nov 1840.
The 1850 census of Pennsylvania in South Hanover Township of Dauphin County, page 196B has a Solomon Muma (age 11) living with the family of Michael and Magdalena Obercarsh (ages 45). Also, living not far away (a few houses) from Solomon is a Mary A. Muma (age 10) living in the house of John and Martha Lingle.
Jacob's name and that of his wife are obtained from a birth certificate of his son, Samuel. That certificate is in the possession of a descendant, John "Jack" Carroll Mumma, e-mail JCMumma54@aol.com
The certificate states:
" To these two parents: As Jacob Muma (cut short because of room I think) and his wife, Sarah, daughter of Fackler, was born a son on the 22 day of Jan. in the year of our lord 1836. The child was born In West Hanover in Dauphin County in the state of Pennsylvania in North America and received the name of Samuel."
