Opal Irene Smith, 86, of Tuscumbia died Thursday, Jan. 3 1991 at the Miller County Nursing Home at Tuscumbia. She was born Oct. 20, 1904 in Eagleville to Louis and Ida Mumma Badders. On Feb. 21, 1927 she was married in Garnett, Kan. to Ruick E. Smith, who died Sept. 11, 1969.
Mrs Smith was a member of the Lincoln Chapel Methodist Church at Brush City, Kan.
Survivors include a son, Edward Smith of Gardner, Kan.; a daughter, Thelma Haus of Iberia; a sister, Hazel Herber of the state of California; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Garnett Cemetery in Garnett, Kan. with Bro Gene Edwards officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home of Iberia.
