Mary Ellenora Larson Haines Monkman passed away on April 25, 1931 in Chicago as a result of Tuberculosis. It is said that she contacted TB while taking care of her sister, Ethel D. Larson. Ellen is buried in the Deland Cemetery with two of her sons. Curtis Wray Haines and Theodore Monkman. Uncle Ted's ashes where buried at the same grave site as his mother and Curtis Wray is buried beside her

MRS. ALBERT MONKMAN SUCCUMBS AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS
Mrs. Albert Monkman who has been a patient in the Cook county hospital the past 18 months for treatment for tuberculosis passed away Saturday night, April 25, 1931.
Ellen Nora Larson eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nes Larson, was born near Argenta, Illinois April 9, 1892 and departed this life April 25. She married to Albert Monkman June 29, 1922 to this union four children were born Doris, Wray, Wesley and Theodore all at home. She leaves to morn her loss besides her husband and children; four brothers, Albert Larson, Mansfield; Arthur of lodge, Ralph and Noel of Monticello, one sister, Minnie and her aged father of Monticello.
Her mother, four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
She was a loving mother and wife and loved all who knew her. She was always giving a willing hand to help sickness and sorrow and will be greatly missed by all.
She was nineteen years of age when she became a member of the Christian church of DeLand.
The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Christian church of DeLand, Rev. E. H. Willey officiating. Burial in DeLand Cemetery.
