Notes:
Susan's birth year is unclear when viewing the census records from 1850 to 1910 . Her ages are listed as 21, 29, 37, 48, 65, 72 suggesting birth years of 1829, 1831, 1833, 1832, 1835 and 1838. Similar problems exist for the birth of children. For example, Ireta is listed as being born in 1862 in the 1900 census, yet she appears in 1860 census as 1 year old. Her death certificate states she was born 12 July 1838, however she was married in 1847, so I suspect 1838 is in error. I am using 1832 as a more plausible birth year. At the date of death, she was living at 312 Biddle Avenue with her daughter, Sara and son-in-law, W. L. Simpson who signed her death certificate. From Susan's death certificate, it states that her father's name was Charles McMinn, b: TN and her mother was Sara Beeler, b: MD. Sara's tombstone lists her death date at 3 May 1843. We know that Susan's birth year month was July, so she most likely was born in July of 1831 or 1832.
