Richard L. Burelison, 70

Richard L. Burelison, 70, of Churubusco, died at 3:55 p.m., Monday, Aug. 7, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne where he was admitted on July 31.
Born Feb 2, 1936 in New Castle, he was a son of Elmer Virgil "Jack" and Lillian (Mumaugh) Burelison. As a young boy his family moved to big Lake and later Fort Wayne. In 1950 his family moved to Churubusco.
On May 26, 1956 she[sic] was united in marriage to Barbara A. Floyd. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1968 when they moved to their home in Churubusco. Mrs. Burelison died July 6, 2006.
He was employed at Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne from 1954 until his retirement in 1991, with 37 years of service.
His memberships include the Columbis City North Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Surviving relatives include three sons, Dennis (Melita) Burelison of Crossville, Tenn., David (Jeanette) Burelison of Fort Wayne and Kim (Alma) Burelison of Churubusco; a daughter, June (Chris) Green of Churubusco; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Burelison of Columbia City; and three sisters, Iola Hanauer, Barbara Deflon and Nina Price, all of Columbia City.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vina Burelison.
The funeral service is at 6 p.m., Thursday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Columbia City with visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco. [note by Ellen, this cemetery is in Wayne Co., IN].

Burelison service
The funeral service for Richard L. Burelison, 70, was Thursday evening, Aug. 10, 2006 at Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Columbia City, with Jan Kuckuck officiating.
A variety of hymns were played during the prelude and postlude. The service began with the playing of "Sincerely."
Burial will take place at a later date at Eel River Cemetery, rural Churubusco.
Mr. Burelison, widower of Barbara A. (Floyd) Burelison and father of Dennis (Melita) Burelison, David (Jeanette) Burelison, Kim (Alma) Burelison and June (Chris) Green, died Monday, Aug. 7.
