According to a Kalamazoo Gazzette obituary, Lois Jean (Slittler) Mumaugh, age 67, of Lawrence, Michigan, died Saturday, June 27, 1998 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. She was born October 24, 1930 in Lee Township, Michigan, the daughter of Elmer and Lula (Hewitt) Slittler. Surviving are her husband David, whom she married on October 6, 1951; her daughters, Linda L. Porter; Patricia S. Stratton; Judith A. Butcher; Susan D. Soppelsa and Pamela J. Tackett; grandmother of 13 grand-children; and several great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her brother Charles Raymond Slittler who passed away on September 3, 1947. Memorial service to be held on Friday, July 3rd 11 a.m. at the Lawrence United Methodist Church of which she was a member with Reverend Wayne Babcock of the Lawrence United Methodist Church and Reverend Ronald Brooks of Mount Hope United Methodist Church officiating.
