"Howard Daniel Mumma Sr., 56, of 350 Woodpoint Ave. in Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in Hagerstown. Born Jan. 12, 1950, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Kay Shindle of Hagerstown and the late Galen Lynwood Mumma. He served in the U.S. Army. He previously was employed by Lanny's Auto Service, and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Hagerstown for 33 years. He attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Darlene V. Straub Mumma; one son, Howard D. Mumma Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Hagerstown; one sister, Dianna L. Mumma Brill and husband, Richard, of Hagerstown; two brothers, Spencer Allen Mumma of Denver, Colo., and Albert L. Mumma Sr. and wife, Rosalee, of Hagerstown; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be Monday at 7 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dr. Stephen D. Robison will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends Monday immediately following services until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E.
