The funeral of John Mumma, who was drowned in the Sacramento river near the Grand Island mill last Saturday, was held in this city Tuesday afternoon. The body, accompanied by relatives and many friendes, arrived from Dunnigan on the belated motor. It was conveyed to the city cemetery immediately upon the arrival of the train, and all the services were held there. Rev. T. Reeve of the M. E. church south preached an impressive sermon, and the church choir rendered appropriate music. The last earthly resting place of deceased was covered with a wealth of beautiful flowers. The pallbearers were Thos. Mumma, Dale Mumma, Laurence Miller, Thos. Emmert Jr., Fred McCullough and Lloyd Willman.
