Notes:
Elizabeth is the top person in this "unidentified" branch. It is highly likely that she is either a Mumma widow or an unidentified child.of Peter Mumma (296) who residded in Warwick and Earl townships of Lancaster Co. Another possibiity would be she was the wife of John B. Mumma, b: 1841, died 1865. If he died in 1865 and they had one child, they it would be likely that she would marry again soon.
Please contact me if you have further information about Kate and Elias Stark. I cannot, for certainty, identify them in the 1850 or 1860 census.
The Lancaster Intelligencer: Wed. 22 Dec. 1869: Page 3: Marriages
----------------------
STARK-MUMMA.-On the 16th inst., at Yundt's Hotel, by the Rev. J. J.
Strine, Silas [Elias] F. STARK of Penn, to Kate C. MUMMA, of Warwick.
1870 Census, PA, Lancaster Co., Penn twp., dwelling 84
Stark, Elias, 34, day laborer, $150 personal, b: PA
" , Kate, 32, keeping house, b: PA
" , John, 5, at home, b: PA
Since they married in 1869 after "John Stark" was born, it is unclear whether he is a son of Elias, a child of Kate, or simply a relative of Elias. The 1910 census lists only 2 wives for Elias and this would suggest that he was not married prior to his marriage to Kate Mumma - but census information is often wrong. No entry is found in the 1880 census for John, suggesting he died or was living with another family.
1880 Census, PA, Lancaster Co., E. Hempfield twp, dwelling 198
Stark, Elias F., 43, laborer, b: PA/PA/PA
" , Catherine, 42, wife, keeping house, b: PA/PA/PA
" , Harry, 8, son, b: PA/PA/PA
" , Elias, 5, son, b: PA/PA/PA
Elias is found in the 1900 -1920 census of East Hempfield. Harry Stark has not been found after the 1880 census. The 1900 census suggests that Catherine has died and Elias has remarried another woman in 1903.
