George Washington Reed, 92, of Orange Park died Feb. 25, 2007, at Life Care Center of Orange Park. Mr. Reed was a native of Sewannee, Tenn., and had resided in St. Augustine for 30 years before moving to Orange Park. Mr. Reed was a mechanic for a lumber company and a member of the Yukon Baptist Church.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel. Calling hours: 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Craig Funeral Home. Burial: St. Augustine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors: Daughters, Judy Mummaw and Shirley Scott, both of Jacksonville, Rita Williams, Orange Park and Patricia Kane, Farmington, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Reed, and sons, Duncan and George Steven Reed.
