Obituary: Ruby G. Payne
"Mrs. Ruby G. Payne, 79, of 702 West Willow, Lansing died Saturday, May 10, at St. Lawrence Hopital in Landing. She was born February 29, 1979 in Kent County, the daughter of LeRoy and Isadore Belle Sayles. She been retired for nine years, after working at the University of Michigan 20 years from 1929 to her retirement. Mrs. Payne had lived in Lansing six years. She resided in Ionia during her married life, except for one year in Fennville. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Ionia. Surviving are two brothers, Guy Sayles of Ionia and Forrest Sayles of LaPorte, Indiana; one sister."
