Notes:
Carl Anthony Heckman, of Bridgeport died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Heartland Lansing Care Center.
He was born on May 30, 1910 in Glandorf, Ohio, son of the late William and Catherine Uphouse Heckman.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty years, Helen M. Mumaugh Heckman; three brothers, Ed, Henry, and Frank; four sisters, Mary, Frances, Lucy, Martha and his great-grandson, Maxwell Carl Heckman.
Carl was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Bridgeport. He retired from Bostwick Braun Hardware Company as a salesman for 40 years. Carl was past president of the Parish Council at St. Anthony?s and was a member of Valley Grove, W.Va., Lions Club.
Carl is survived by his sons, Bill of Sun City, Hilton Head, S.C., Bob of Lansing, Ohio; a daughter, Sue Ann of Wheeling, W.Va.
Carl (Poppy) had seven grandchildren, William J. Heckman, Kathryn (Kathi) Heckman, James Heckman, Joe Heckman, Bobbie Heckman, Rick Kulevich, and Chris Kulevich. Carl had 13 great- grandchildren: Madeline (Mad die) Heckman, Adam Carl Heckman, Natalie Heckman, Steven Heckman, Keith Heckman, Brittany Heckman, Michaela Heckman, Garrett Heckman, Ashley Christine (Campbell) Murdock and husband Brad, Kyle Thomas Kulevich, Thomas (Jack) Kulevich, Katharine (Kate) Kulevich and Jane M. Kulevich and one great-great grandson Landon Gage Murdock.
Carl is also survived by two stepgrandchildren,four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Carl will be missed by his loving friend and partner, Eleanor Mauck.
Visitation will be Friday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday, at 10 a.m., at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bridgeport with Monsignor George Coyne as the celebrant. Interment follows at St. Anthony Cemetery in Blaine, Ohio
