MAAG, Mary Lou Passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at her home in Bellbrook. She was 83. Mary Lou was born January 25, 1932 in Dayton to Margaret (Rounds) and Theodore Utermoehlen, Sr. She was the granddaughter of Theodore John Utermoehlen, chief mechanic for the Wright Brothers. Mary Lou was a caring and giving person who was loved by many and will be missed by all of those she touched. She was an awesome mother, friend and grandmother that always put her family first. She retired from B.G. Danis, Inc. in 1994 after 21 years of service as an executive secretary and commercial property leasing manager. Mary Lou had been an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church since 1967 and served as church secretary (7 yrs.), lay reader and communion server, choir member, council member (3 yrs.) and first woman to be council president, member of the Evangelism Committee (2 yrs.), member of the Alter Guild, Sunday school teacher, pulpit service when pastor was absent, editor of Bethel's newsletter, and banner maker. Her parents preceded her in death; husband Carl Maag, and sister-in-law Gloria Akers. Mary Lou is survived by her son, Jeff Maag; daughter Tina Maag, both of Bellbrook; 5 grandchildren, Jason Jones, Zach Maag (wife Laura), Christopher Maag; one great-grandson, Caleb Jones (mother Courtney Jablonsky); brother, Theodore Utermoehlen, Jr. of Tampa, Florida; nephews, Tim Akers, Todd Utermoehlen; niece Brenda Utermoehlen and close companion Bill Supper. Mary Lou will be cremated. In the spring, her remains will be buried at Bellbrook Cemetery during a memorial graveside service. The time and day will be announced, tentatively planned for early June.
