"Mary Jane Mathias ?Studenroth, 84, of 49 Rockford Rd., Mountville, PA died on Sunday at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, PA following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Carl E. ?Mathias, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1989 and the late George Studenroth, Jr. who preceded her in death in 1997.
Born in Columbia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Elsie Hougentogler Mummaw. Mary Jane retired as the Office Manager of Time Warner Cable where she was employed for 22 years. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Columbia and was very active in various Church committees and various Church projects. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was active in Water Aerobics and was very active in various community activities.
Surviving is a Daughter: Barbara wife of Thomas Seifried of State College, PA; Sons: Michael R. husband of Kimberly Mathias of Manor Twp., PA and Carl E. III "Chip" husband of Joanne Mathias of Mountville, PA. Also surviving are 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a Sister: Janet Springer.
Mary Jane's Celebration of Life will be held from St. James Lutheran Church, 655 S. 10th St., Columbia, PA on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM with her Pastor, Rev. Mark Kopp, officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. The Viewings will be held on Wednesday Evening, April 2, 2014 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at St. James Lutheran Church and on Thursday one hour prior to the Service. At Mary Jane's request, please omit flowers. Memorial Contributions in her Memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 655 S. 10th St., Columbia, PA 17512. Arrangements by the Clyde W.
