Muma, Myrtle "Myrt" 7/18/1930 - 2/21/2017 Jackson Born on July 18, 1930 to Ray and Zelma Mast in Ohio. She passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 21, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children, Mike (Susie) Muma and Karen (Jim) Fitch; brothers, Dave, Jack (Pat), Paul (Betty), Steve (Sue) and James Mast; sisters, Millie (Gene) Dove, Mary (Dennis) Zdanowitz, Donna Marsh; sister-in law, Betty Mast; brothers-in law, Archie D. (Jacqueline) Muma and Woody Parshall. She was the proud grandmother of, Christy (Mark) Woodward, James D. Fitch, Melissa (Jeremy) Copenhaver, Lesley (Jason) Rice, Eric Fitch, and Jason (Alexis) Rairigh; great grandmother of, Chloe and Carly Woodward, James E. Fitch, Josiah and Ezekiel Copenhaver, Brady and Graham Rairigh, Valentina and Jacob Fitch; numerous nieces and nephews. Myrt was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, James Muma; sister, Ruth Ratcliff; brothers, Tom and Ray Mast; brothers-in-law, Walter Wright and Marvin Marsh; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Brown, Donna Wright and Deanna Parshall. She retired from Michigan Bell Telephone after 35 years of service. After retirement she was blessed to divide her time between her family in Arizona and Michigan. She enjoyed attending the Bible Refuge Church in Michigan Center. Myrt was an avid bowler, golfer and shopper. She rolled a 170 game this past December. As a member of the Turf Diggers for the past 35 years she made many great friends and 3 hole-in-ones. However, her greatest joy throughout the years, was nurturing the children of her family and friends. Myrt is at the Lauer Family Funeral Home in Concord, Michigan where her family will receive friends Thursday February 23, 2017 from 5 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 24, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bruce Mast officiating. Private interment will follow next to her husband at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
