"Rev. Henry S. Sonon died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Neri Bushong, near Monterey, at 1:30 a. m., Sunday, of infirmities of old age, he being 73 years, 3 months and 9 days old. Deceased was born in East Hempfield township, Oct. 14 [sic], 1847, his parents being the late Jacob and Evelyn Stackhouse Sonon. He formerly resided on a farm near East Petersburg until 2 years ago. Soon after the death of his wife he moved to the home of the daughter, Mrs Bushong, where he lived ever since retirement. He was a minister of the church of the Brethren and for many years was Elder of Fairview district.
These children survive: Mrs. William B. Reidenbaugh, of Lititz; and Mrs. Neri Bushong, near Monterey; also one sister, Mrs. Mary Tobias Kauffman, of Columbia, Pa. Eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and a daughter-in-law, Mrs F.S. Klinger, of Ephrata, survive.
The funeral was held privately at the house at 9:30 o'clock yesterday and at 10:30 public at Longenecker's church, with interment in the cemetery adjoininng. Mr. E. B. Beck was funeral director.
