Raymond C. Denlinger, 81, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, and formerly of Marietta, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Lampeter, he was the son of the late Chester H. and Myrtle (Shimp) Denlinger. He was the husband of Dorothy (Brubaker) Denlinger of Manheim. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February 2007. Raymond was a former owner and operator of his farm in East Donegal Township and had worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 27 years. He enjoyed antique tractors (John Deere) and antique cars. He attend Jerusalem Church, Penryn, PA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Robert, husband of Bonnie (Brinser) Denlinger of Mount Joy, Lamar, husband of Joan (Girvin) Denlinger of Lancaster; one daughter, Barbara, wife of Karl Miller of Lancaster; 4 granddaughters; 4 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elvin Denlinger of Holtwood, Lloyd Denlinger of Atascadero, CA; and one sister June, wife of Mervin Leaman of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Denlinger and Marian Rabe.
