Verna I. Mumaw, 88, formerly of Easton, died on Thursday, November 17, 2005 in Gracedale. Born: On March 27, 1917, in Wilson Borough, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Butler and Carrie Young Butler Stuber. Personal: Her husband, John C., Sr., died in 1973.
She had worked for the former Shapiro & Sons and the former DeLight Form. Verna volunteered for thousands of hours in the short procedure unit at Easton Hospital over many years. Memberships: Verna was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Easton. She was also a member of and former secretary of Navy Mothers Club of America, Inc.
Survivors: She is survived by two sons, James and his wife, Margaret of Sanford, NC, and John, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Lothian, Md; two daughters, Barbara Mumaw Esteves and her husband, Manuel of Bethlehem Township, and Verna Helm and her husband, Franklin of Williams Township; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A brother, Orville Butler, and two sisters, Pearl Heinrich and Grace Schneck, all died earlier.
