WILL of ABRAM MUMMA, Baltimore County, MD.
Be it known to all men by these presents that I Abram Mumma farmer of the County of Baltimore State of Maryland being very weak and sick but in perfect mind and memory taking into consideration the uncertainty of life and that is to say it is appointed for all men once to die, do therefore constitute and ordain this my last will and testament; that is to say I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to Christian Burial at the discretion of my executors after mentioned and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give, demise and depose of the same in the following manner. First - It is my pleasure to give to my eldest sister Elizabeth Hickman; as her portion of that eleven acres of land in Shermans Bottom the two first acres; also to Nancy Schunck, as her equal proportion the two next acres; also to my brother Christian's son, Henry, the next two acres; to Susan Lutz the next two acres and lastly to my brother David Mumma, the next-two acres reserving the other eleventh acre to be sold in order to defray what doctor expenses and any other debts of mine which together with the cow. I appoint to be disposed of for said purpose and I hereby constitute and appoint my brother David Mumma and John Schunck, my brother-in-law my executors to see this my last will and testament put into effect and whereas that eleven acres of land mentioned and bequeathed above was delivered to me by Mr. Daniel Bowly by an obligation dated sixteenth of August, seventeen hundred and eighty eight, or to pay me two hundred pounds current money of Maryland. I therefore do now bequeath to my Executors all right and title to the said land that I myself could have had to be by them divided as above mentioned and do hereby authorize the to execute the effect and meaning of the said obligation as my lawful executors, to fulfill the true and real intent of this will and divide the land as above mentioned, or an they may afterwards find it necessary or expedient. The two hundred pounds which is the condition of Mr. Daniel Bowley's obligation - may be received in lieu of the land and in that case it is the meaning of this my last will and the said two hundred pounds be equally divided in the same manner as the land that is my sisters Elizabeth Hickman, Nancy Schunck and my brother'son Henryor in case of his demise to the next eldest of any brother Christian sons, my sister Susan Lutz and my brother David Muma, shall all receive equal portions of the said moneys and of all moneys, goods and lands that might hereafter by heritage or otherwise come to be mine however at the same time retaining in my own possession the premises and goods above mentioned during the course of my natural life to revoke and alter as I may think convenient and I co hereby utterly disallow every other former will and testament confirming and ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and, eighty nine.

Baltimore County to wit: On the 6th day of July 1789 cans Daniel Weaver, Thomas Mein and William Allen subscribing evidences to the aforegoing last will and testament of Abram Mumma late of said County deceased and made oath that they did see the testator sign and seal this will; that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his doing so he was to the best of their apprehensions of sound disposing mind memory and understanding ; that they subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other. sworn before me Register of wills for the County aforesaid.
