Notes:
Data source is the 1990 book, "Moomaw-Mumma-Mumaw-Mumaugh Genealogy" compiled by Robert Austin Moomaw (deceased).
His birth, as son of Jacob and Margaretha Mumma, was recorded in the Muddy Creek Lutheran/Reformed Church records. He and all of his descendants have been identified through census and cemetery records. The surname has been written and transcribed many different ways, including Mumma, Mumau, Mumaw Muran, Murnan, etc. Even the surname has been transcribed differently from the tombstones - once as Mumau and another time as Mumma. If you have any inforamtion about this branch, please contact me.

It is assumed that the other two Mumaws found in the 1850 census of Dickinson township are Jacob's sons, Jacob & Benjamin. It is unknown whether other children were born to Jacob & Leah. These families are hard to trace in the census because the way in which the surname was written and transcribed, such as Murnan
