His birth is recorded in the First Reformed Church of Lancaster. His birth, baptism, marriage and death dates were also recorded by Henry Shaffner in the records he maintained as he served various Reformed Churches in west of Lancaster. Most of these records are listed under the Reformed Church of Columbia.
The marriage record for Johannes & Susanna Bower is recorded in Book 3, 1768-1797, page 227 of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Lancaster, PA by license on May 6, 1789. Note: A marriage year of 1786 was recorded in the summary record for John Mumma by Rev. Henry Shaffner for the Columbia Congregation, however it appears to be in error and written much later in time than the event. Possibly he made an error transcribing year.
Johannes Mumma (written as John in the early part) in named in his father's Will to serve as the administrator of the estate.
The names of Johannes and Sussana Mumma's children are listed in his wife's sister's Estate records. The sister died single and left monies to her siblings, which included Susanna Bower Mumma. Susanna predeceased her sister. In addition to this evidence, there is an entry in Stella Mumma's notebook which listed all of these children and their parents, John and Susanna Mumma. This information came from Jacob Divet Mumma, the grandson of Johannes Mumma. In his information he noted that Christian moved to Ohio. Also, Christian was represented by an attorney when the estate funds were distributed. Travel from Ohio would have been a long trip.
