Doris "Elaine" Houk, 95, Brazil, passed away Sat. June 6, 2015 after a brief stay at Cloverleaf Heathcare in Knightsville. She was born on March 23, 1920 in Dayton Ohio to the late Walter and Margaret Kershner. Elaine attended Dayton High School, and married Charles Houk on Dec. 2, 1939. She and Charles ran Houk's Village at Cataract Lake. Elaine enjoyed working in the yard, writing journals and stories. She also enjoyed following I.U. Basketball.
Mrs. Houk was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, William Kershner, brother-in-law, Albert McGill.
As well as two sisters-in-law, Wilma Kershner and Virginia McGill.
