LUNNEY, Valerie E. Valerie Ethlyn Lunney, 70, of Acworth passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016. Mrs. Lunney was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and was known for her caring ways. She worked many years at the Butler Creek Kroger in Acworth where she was loved by many. Valerie's greatest enjoyment was being outdoors in nature. She loved hiking in the woods, biking, and watching birds and butterflies. She is survived by her beloved husband, James J. Lunney; daughters, Martha Hazard and Kim Strickland & husband Michael; son, Richard Lunney & wife Karen; brother, James Mumma & wife Karyn; and two granddaughters and six grandsons. In accordance with Valerie's wishes, there will be no services held in her honor. In lieu of flowers Valerie requests donations be made to any local Humane Society.
