Russel Mumma Sept. 3, 1940 - Oct. 11, 2014 EDWARDSBURG -
Russel Mumma, 74 years old, of Edwardsburg, MI passed to his rest October 11, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born September 3, 1940 in Washington, Indiana, the son of George Calvin and Nellie (Bush) Mumma, and spent his earlier years in Washington, Indiana. Russel served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1965. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Most of his enjoyment came when he and his wife, Mary would go out to have breakfast or evening dinner. Russel worked in construction as a private sub-contractor. Russel was married November 5, 1961 in Washington, IN to Mary A. Baxter, who survives along with their sons, Russel, Jr. (Linda) Mumma of Syracuse, IN, Mark A. Mumma of Homosassa, FL, Robert C. Mumma of Tampa, FL, Scott A. (Beth) Mumma of Morganton, NC, Daniel L. (Shelley) Mumma and R.J. Mumma, both of Edwardsburg. There are seven grandchildren, a sister, Phyllis Allegree of Greenfield, IN, and two brothers, Robert L. Mumma of Hot Springs, AR and Joseph Mumma of Washington, IN. Family who have passed are his parents, a brother, Lacey and three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Mumma, Pat Mumma and Linda Mumma. There are no funeral services. The family will gather at their home in Edwardsburg at a future time and date for their own celebration of Russel's life. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, MI 49112-0024.
