Lacey L. Mumma Sr., 66, of Washington, died Saturday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Aug. 6, 1944, in Washington, he was the son of Nellie (Allegree) and George Calvin Mumma. A member of Temple Baptist Church, he was a truck driver for Larno Trucking for 30 years and Mumma Drilling for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Duncan) Mumma, whom he married Aug. 1, 1964; two daughters, Sheryl L. Mumma and Polly Hall, both of Washington; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Mumma of Washington, Russell Mumma of LaGrange, and Robert Mumma of Biloxi, Miss.; one half brother, George Mumma of Bloomfield; and two half sisters, Lola Belle Benefield of Palestine, Ill., and Phyllis Allegree of Anderson. One son, Lacey L. Mumma Jr., died in 1966. Two brothers, Norman and Virgil Mumma; one sister, Madesta Myers; one half brother, Dean Mumma; and one half sister, Doris Mallett, are also deceased. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Poindexter-Hall and McClure Funeral Home, Washington Chapel. Funeral services will be held at a later date. (Jan. 22, 2011)
