Betty Mae Mumma 1929?2017
Betty Mae Mumma, 87, of Rockford, passed away on January 23, 2017. She was born on August 18, 1929 to Carl V. and Sigrid Klaung Olson in Rockford. She graduated from East High School in 1947 and worked at National Lock Co. Betty married the love of her life, Jack Mumma, on September 14, 1957, and was a loving spouse for 59 years. She was a former member at Bethany United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir, participating in women's clubs, and working as their church secretary. In recent years she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church which she attended regularly. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her survivors: husband, Jack; children, Beth (P.J.) Waelti, Jeff (Tiffany) Mumma, and Nancy (Bruce) Jorlando; grandchildren, Jamie and Jennifer Waelti, Ashley, Lindsey, and Bailey Jorlando; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and sisters, Phyllis Olson and Laurna Smith.
Funeral services will be co-officiated by Pastors Scott Himel and Laura Barkley at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, in Christ United Methodist Church, 4509 Highcrest Rd., Rockford followed by a church luncheon. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita for the wonderful care given to Betty.
