Harry Joseph Mumma Sr. 71, a veteran of World War I, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lebanon. He was a son of the late David and Bertie Weaver Mumma. His wife, Dorothy E. Cassel Mumma died March 11, 1959. Mr. Mumma was a self-employed blacksmith for many years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and Holy Name Socirty Area 1406, Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 2506, Veterans of Foreign War and the Hanover Home Association.
Surviving are a son, Harry Jr., Hanover, two grandchildren, a brother, David J. Mumma Jr., McSherrystown, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Ginter, Hanover.
Funeral services will be held Thursday with prayers at 8:30a.m. at the Panebaker Funeral Home followed by a Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Vincent's Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Maher will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening when the Rosary will be recited at 7:30p.m. by the Monsignor Maher.
