NOTICE: Through DNA testing of men with the Mummy\Mummey\Mumy surname, I have been able to determine that the original surname of this family was MUMMY and became altered to MUMMA when Samuel Mumy enlisted in the Civil War in Harrisburg. He could not read nor write. Therefore, these descendants are not "genetically" related to the MUMMA family although that is the surname they use. - Doug Mumma doug@mumma.org

Tombstone inscription reads Frank C. Mumma, died Oct 19, 1908, 40y/11d. This would suggest a birth date of about Oct 1868 which is off by about 10 years from all census records. The Oct 23, 1908 obit of Catherine, his wife, said he died 22 Sept 1906. I don't understand how his tombstone could be that far off with the date of death.
