I was clearing out some files and found the following extraction [from CD350 I believe].
"21 May 1649. Deposition by Matthias Lynnen of London, merchant aged 49, that he was bookkeeper to Gerlock Momma & Co. of London between 1634 and 1637 when Gerlock Becke, silk weaver, lately deceased in Barbados, received money in London from Momma for weaving silk. Gerlock Momma of London aged 47 deposes that Becke owed him money at his death. (MCD 3)."
I am not sure what a "silk thrower" was, but I guess it might be a silk weaver?
The interesting facts from this entry are we know that Gerlock (Gorlack) Momma was born 1602 and he owned the Gerlock Momma Company in the 1630's. It appears that he was involved in silk as well as copper.
