Peg Kwadrat is interested in the Hockensmith line. Although she is not a descendant of Samuel and Elizabeth she is a descendant of Samuel's uncle, Obediah. She writes, "Conrad Hockensmith was the immigrant ancestor who arrived in America in 1739. George had a son, Samuel (1784-1853) who married Lydia Mellott. Samuel and Lydia (Mellott) Hockensmith were the parents of my gg-grandfather Obediah Hockensmith." Pegi Kwadrat, email address: MKwadrat@aol.com
Jacob Mumma's, Samuel's father-in-law, property went to auction after his death. Samual H. Hockensmith won the auction for Jacob's property for $2,500 on November 3, 1875. Deed Book 8, Pg 445, Court house records, Fulton Co., PA. In 1897 the property was given to the heirs of Daniel Laidig to satisfy a judgement which Daniel Laidig held against Samuel. Deed Book 55, pg 365. PMumma ,mumma6@yahoo.com
