MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy H. Bryan, 81, of 3452 Mountain Road, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004. Born Nov. 30, 1922, near Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late Simon M. and Harriet G. Mumma Ryder. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob H. Bryan Jr., in 1996. They were married May 27, 1939. Earlier, she worked at the former U-Wanna-Wash Frock Co. in Fort Loudon, Pa. She was a member of Clayton Memorial Church of God in Mercersburg, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a former Sunday school teacher. She is survived by two daughters, Helen D. Edwards of Pasadena, Md., and Susan K. Robinson of Mercersburg; three sons, Carl W. Bryan, Melvin L. Bryan and Ronald E. Bryan, all of Mercersburg; two sisters, Betty Dorty of Mercersburg and Janet Wilmert of Chambersburg, Pa.; two brothers, William Ryder of Mercersburg and Charles Ryder of Holidaysburg, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, two half brothers and one grandson. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Clayton Memorial Church of God in Mercersburg. The Revs. Marcus E. Tanner and Floyd E. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mercersburg. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg."
