Alice was the daughter of William J. and Addie Carter Coulter, and the widow of Alpha Mumaw, who died in 1968. She was survived by her children Charles, Norman and Luther Mumaw and Anna Bonam, 16 grandkids, 11 great-grandkids and her siblings Albert, Luther, John and Lawrence Coulter, Gladys Allen and Mary Taylor.
