Charles R. Muma, 87, a retired IBM fiscal officer, died Oct. 29 of prostate cancer at his home in Vienna, daughter-in-law Susan Muma said.
Mr. Muma began his career with IBM as an engineer in Flint, Mich., in the 1940s. He came to the Washington area in 1982 and worked in financial planning and management. He retired in 1992.
Charles Reginald Muma was born in Paris, Ontario, and graduated from high school in Flint. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Schuster Muma of Vienna; three sons, Shawn Muma of Bangkok, Scott Muma of Raleigh, N.C., and Chris Muma of North Potomac; a brother; a sister; and eight grandchildren.
