Alvin Randall Moomau, 74, of Greenville went to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Emeritus Memory Care.
He was born January 8, 1936, in Augusta County, a son of the late Ralph Moore, Sr., and Virginia (Vines) Moomau.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Moomau was owner/operator of Moomau's Service Center and Arms Gas, Oil, and Heating Company.
He was a member of Greenville United Methodist Church.
Family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Fonda and Rick Perry, Gail and Scott Coyner, and Nedra and Ben Puckett, all of Stuarts Draft; two brothers, Ralph M. Moomau, Jr., of Staunton and Lionel Moomau of Greenville; four sisters, Elaine M. Shifflett of Greenville, Dolly Hite of Yorktown, Crannie Campbell of Greenville, and Shannon Conley of Kingsland, GA; eight grandchildren, Travis Coyner and his wife, Lindsey, Justin Perry, Megan Coyner, Jason Perry, Skylar, Jonathan, Olivia, and Alex Puckett; and two great grandchildren, Jayden Perry and Kylie Coyner.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Quinnlyn F. Moomau and Rothwell Moomau; and two sisters, Lorraine Miller and Nedra Zuane Moomau.
A graveside service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at the Greenville United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Earl Monroe.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Henry Funeral Home.
