Death: Medina Gazette (OH), July 11, 1952, p1 -- West Salem Youth Killed
Larry Messmore, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Messmore of Lincoln street, West Salem, was killed late Wednesday afternoon by the discharge of a muzzle-loader shotgun in his home. West Salem police were continuing their investigation Thursday and were unable to relate how the tragedy occurred. It is not believed the shot was self-inflicted as the young man was playing with other boys in his home shortly before the accident. The mother was in another part of the house when she heard the discharge. The Messmores have three [four] other children.
