Note- In Robert Moomaw's book, as well as the Sheppard book, Serena is listed as being married to Robert Wilson. This is incorrect. It was her sister, Martha that remained in Belmont County and married Robert Wilson. Some confusion probably existed because her daughter also married a man named Wilson.

Serena married James B. Steen and they appear in the 1880 census in Miami County, OH. David Burns found their marriage listed in the IGI- SERENA E. MEWMANA married J. B. STEENE on 29 MAY 1879, Miami Co., OH
In 1900, she is the head of the house and her daughter, Laura, and son-in-law, Byron Wilson, are living with her. She is listed as having giving birth to 3 children, 2 still living.
In 1910 she is still living with Byron and Laura Wilson who now have 3 chldren. It lists, however, that she had given birth to 11 chiildren and 6 were still living. This seems improbable since she was married at age 40.
She is living with Byron and Laura Wilson in 1920 & 1930 in Miami County.
