Mrs. Mary Ahr Dies Sunday At Hospital
Mrs. Mary Ahr, 78, of 312 North Fifth street , well known Decatur lady, died at 6:45 o'clock Sunday evening at the Adams county memorial hospital following a week's illness.
She was born in Union township June 3, 1882, a daughter of Benjamin and Rebecca Harkless. Her husband, Edward J. Ahr, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Ahr was a member of the First Methodist church, the Pythian Sisters and the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are two sons, Lloyd Ahr of Decatur , and Fred Ahr of Fort Wayne ; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Methodist church, the Rev. F. Hazen Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the Black funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening until 12 noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of the services.
