George Calvin Mumma, Jr., 82, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:30 a.m., today, June 8, 2001 at his residence.
Born June 18, 1918 in Decatur, he was the son of George Calvin and Orah (Drake) Mumma, Sr.
He was a shop planner in the ordinance department at Crane NSWC, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Life Tabernacle Church Springville; Bloomfield Odd Fellows Lodge; Bloomfield American Legion Post; and Odon VFW. He was a retired disabled veteran of the Army in World War II and Korean War.
Survivors include, one son, Dean K. Mumma of Bloomfield; daughter-in-law, Karen J. Mumma of Bloomfield; one daughter, Patsy Gentry of Las Vegas, Nev.; five brothers, Dean K. Mumma of Lyons, Robert Mumma of Florida, Russell Mumma of Michigan, and Joe Mumma and Lacey Mumma both of Washington; two sisters, Doris Mallette of Odon and Lolabell Denniel of Lawrenceville, Ill.; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. (Dove) Mumma on April 4, 1983; one brother; one sister; and his parents.
Funeral services will be at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Doug Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
