Lewis, Mary and the younger children relocated with the ministry to Altoona, PA. The oldest son Lloyd was married and lived in Thompson town. Glenn stayed with Lloyd for under a year then moved to Altoona with his parents at the age of 17. Glenn got a job working at the dry cleaners making $12.00 a week. He met his future wife, Helen Webber at a ball game in East Altoona. Glenn started to work as a truck driver for the Yankee Line Trucking Company. He stayed with this company for 2 years, making $20.00 a trip. Helen was working as a secretary for Penelec after graduating from Altoona High. The two of them were married on August 23,1938 by Glenn' s father Lewis, in his church at Lakemont, Altoona PA. Glenn started working for Ward Trucking Company that same year. While Helen kept working for Penelec, keeping her marriage a secret because the girls weren't allowed to be married working for the company. The two of them had their first apartment in the East End of Altoona on Lloyd Street. Eventually, Helen stopped working to become a homemaker. They bought a home and started a family. Their first child was William, born on June 23,1941. Mary Katherine was born a few years later on July 24,1944. Glenn, retired in 1981, after 43 years with Ward TruckingCompany. Source: ?
