Norman John Mumma, 86, died the evening of August 7, 1982 in the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md. Born June 17, 1896, in Burnt Cabins, he was the son of the late John and Myrtle Gallagher Mumma. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission prior to his retirement and was a member of Burnt Cabins United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Eva Emmons Mumma. Surviving are one daughter, Helen Chambers, Waynesboro; one brother, Ira Mumma, Burnt Cabins; two sisters, Irene Brown and Beatrice Clevenger, both of Burnt Cabins; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;and four great-great-grandchildren. Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Kelso Funeral Home, McConnellsburg, with the Rev. Albert Horst officiating. Burial was in Burnt Cabins Cemetery. Obit found in the FCHS obituary listings.
