Georgia V. (Mumma) Tosten, 80, or 3755 Sportsman Road, Greencastle, died at 5:45
a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. She was in
failing health for the past few weeks and critically ill for the last several days.
Born Oct 22, 1922, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late George Daniel
and Blanche (Kelso) Mumma. She grew up in Fulton County.
Mrs. Tosten attended Fulton County schools.
She and her husband, Roy S. Tosten, were married Oct. 22, 1943, in Hagerstown. They
moved to the present residence in 1958. Mr. Tosten died June 9, 1967.
Mrs. Tosten was employed at Fairchild Aircraft Manufacturing, Hagerstown, and
Greencastle Canning Co. Prior to retiring on disability in 1967, she was a press operator
at Stanley Co., Chambersburg.
Mrs. Tosten is survived by three sons, Wayne L. Tosten, Delmas E. Tosten and Roger L.
Tosten, all of Greencastle; two sisters, Beulah Strait of Needmore and Betty Anderson of
Greencastle; two brothers, L. Wayne Mumma of Hagerstown and Ivan K. Mumma of
McConnellsburg; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step great-grandson;
and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny
Mumma and Verle Mumma.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Foursquare Gospel Church, 136 Tyrone St.,
Greencastle, with the Revs. Glen E. Hartman and Victor Miller officiating. Burial will be
in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Miller-Bowersox Funeral
Home, Greencastle.
