Jacob H. Mumma, 64, monotype operator and Rothsville native, dies
Jacob H. Mumma, sixty-four, husband of Mabel M. Roppold Mumma, of Rothsville, died at the General Hospital at 8:15 a.m. Monday after an illness of one week.
He was born in Rothsville, a son of the late Emmentize and Mamie Hallacher Mumma.
He was a lifelong resident of Rothsville and was a monotype operator for Lancaster Press, Inc. or 43 years.
He was a member of the International Typographical Union; the F and AM 665, Ephrata, where he was a past master; Lancaster Lodge of Perfection; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, of Lancaster; Lancaster County Shrine Club and Lancaster County Branch of the Reading Consistory. He was a 32nd degree Mason in the Valley of Reading Consistory and a member of Rajah Temple, of Reading.
Mumma was also a member of the Rothsville Fire Co.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert E. Mumma, of New Providence; and two daughters, Betty J., wife of Dr. Arthur Griswold, Lititz; Annette, wife of Robert F. Nation, of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; one sister, Leoti, wife of Dr. Samuel Winn, of Margate City, N. J.
