His Obituary reads:
Mr. John J. Mumma, of Laidig, Pa. passed away at his home, June 11, 1939, after six months illness from internal complications. Deceased was a son of George W. and Sara A. (Breckbill) Mumma and was born August 11, 1866 in Licking Creek township, Fulton County. He was united in marriage to Sara Frances Deshong Novemeber 23, 1892 at Pleasant Valley. Mr. Mumma had been a very progressive farmer all his life and a fine citizen of Fulton county. He is survived by his wife, Sara Frances and two children, Mrs. Ira Lake of Laidig and Mrs. Carl Hann of Laidig, also survived by ten grandchildren and one brother H.C. Mumma of Laidig. Deceased was a member of the Asbury M. E. Church and a member of the Harrisonville I. O. O. F. No. 710. Funeral services were held June 14 from the Mumma home at 10:30 A.M. and was conducted by Rev. Edward Croft. Interment at the Asbury M. E. cemetery. Obituary found in the FCHS obituary file, 2002
